The Power of the Pencil
I've made it a habit to find five things I am grateful for
before I
get out of bed. Typically it's my son, the house that I
live in,
my ability to communicate, the warm water that comes out of
my
shower etc.
I also noticed that each day, I kept adding little things
to the
list that I used to take for granted. I sure know I did
not
appreciate many of these things too long ago. But his
morning I
felt inspired.
A few weeks ago I was invited by two of my heroes,to share
my
experience with hundreds of people of how wonderful it was
to
attend the Attract Wealth Seminar in Austin Texas and how
much my
own life has changed.
I had a whole elaborate speech prepared, but at the
last minute decided to toss it out and opt for inspiration.
I was elated to be able to express my gratitude for life
and to
several people that have been key players in helping me
take The
Halcyon Center to a whole new level.
One of those people is Mark Ryan, Master NLP trainer and
Mega
Hypnotist. This guy can trance you out in two seconds
flat. He is
the co-author of The Subliminal Manifestation DVD series.
The other man, whose name I shall disclose to you in a
second is a
person that I credit with my biggest A-ha moment. There
have in
fact been many, but the catalyst for the MAJOR turning
point in my
life, was his book Spiritual Marketing. It was re-printed
as The
Attractor Factor.
If you have read it, you know by now that the man I am
referring to
is none other than the magical Dr. Joe Vitale. I chose the
word
magical because the vibration around this man is just that.
If you have not read any of his books (He has written too
many to mention here)
but the name still sounds familiar, he is the teacher
from the hit movie
The Secret that says "You are the Michelangelo of your
life, and the
David that you are sculpting is YOU!".
I got to meet with him in Maui last year, and again this
year in Austin.
I not only got to thank him personally but I got to meet
the amazing people around this man, Including his beautiful
love Nerissa, which has also changed
my life immeasurably.
Joe is the inspiration for today's message from me.
For those of you who are not familiar with Dr. Vitale, he
is
certainly not your uptight suit wearing, bone crunching
millionaire. Although he is a seasoned entrepreneur, and
one of
the most successful Marketers in the world, commanding
upwards of
$150,000 for a single marketing campaign, Dr. Vitale is
also a
Metaphysical Practitioner hence, Spiritual Marketing.
If you can imagine the energy of a Franciscan friar,
Shakespeare
and P.T. Barnum all rolled into one with the cutest dimples
and big
beautiful warm brown eyes that emanate love, you've got a
picture
of Joe.
I have observed this man, and he glows ...and gives off the
vibration
of a person who lives in a perpetual state of gratitude,
hence the
miraculous life he has created for himself.
What is so interesting about that? Well Joe was not always
this way!
Joe has told the story of the "pencil" numerous times, and
THE
PENCIL has become a "symbol" for me of the power of
gratitude. This
may sound a bit strange at first, but stick with me here...
You will
understand in a minute.
Have you ever felt stuck? As if there is absolutely NOTHING
you can
find in your life to be grateful for? I know I have had
those days,
and so did Joe. He talks about it all the time.
There was a time Joe's life when he was completely
suicidal! He's also been HOMELESS!
Joe felt as if he had NOTHING to be grateful for in life.
He was a
writer that was "down on his luck" and things were just not
happening for him. He was despondent and depressed.
Somebody told him that he should be grateful; He said he
would be
grateful when he had something to be grateful for and
someone told
him it did not work that way. You need to be grateful for
what you
have NOW!
Joe said since he basically had NOTHING in his life he
could think of
to be grateful for... NO home, car or anything else he
found a PENCIL. He looked at the pencil and thought "I can
write
the great American novel or I can write a suicide note....
If I
don't like it I can erase it etc...."
At that point he began to realize what a powerful tool a
pencil was
and that is what marked the beginning of Joe's current
success. Now
factor in everybody else who he has inspired and has had
success thanks to his
inspiration and all of those down the line that will
continue to benefit from what I now call The Power of The
Pencil!
This is Universe Rocking stuff people!
Shakespeare would love this!
When was the last time you were grateful for anything?
Make a daily list of at least 5 things that you are
grateful for in
your life! No excuses just DO IT! It's not difficult. Make
it one
of your habits!
I will let you in on a secret! A big one! Do you know what
the real
definition of wealth is? For me it is GRATITUDE!
At the beginning of my email I told you I was inspired this
morning
and here is where you have a chance to express your
gratitude!
I have launched a POWER OF THE PENCIL campaign. The aim is
to
raise money in order to give formerly abused /divorced
destitute
women a fair shot at making it on their own.
Some of them have taken responsibility for themselves by
leaving,
but many of them go back because they cannot find the
means to stand on their own two fee, as they have never
worked outside
of their homes.
Some others wind up at shelters, simply because they are
divorced and are in the same position , and therefore
cannot afford to support themselves and their
children.
We provide them with essential tools: We create audio CD 's
for them with
inspirational chats, meditations, positive affirmations
and we let them borrow books
from The Halcyon Library by teachers and authors that send
a message of personal empowerment.
We offer day long courses (twice per month) where they are
invited
to come share and partake in meditation and spiritual work.
They are charged a minimal amount for the courses and
materials.
This campaign has been fully funded by yours truly until
now!
It's not enough! They need more help and now I am asking
for your help..

Think of how many more women we can reach with your help.
I apologize if I am starting to sound like a Feed the
Children commercial
folks but this is a cause that is incredibly important to
me!
Through expressing your gratitude( for women, we all have a
mom, sister,

these ladies reaching for their goals and focused on a new
way of
life.

Ways to use your free gratitude pencils:
1. Give one to YOURSELF and write out your daily THANK YOU
list.
2. Give one to your friend.
3. Give one to your boss.
4. Give one to each member of your family.
5. Give them to your kids, teach them gratitude and anchor
it!
6. Give one to the homeless person down the street. Now
they have
something to be grateful for!
7. Give one to someone who has less than you, to inspire
them!
8. Give one to someone who has more than you, who inspires
you!
9. Give one to your teacher or mentor.( I sent each one of
my mentors a few,
including Joe)
10. Give one to a co-worker who is having a bad day
11. Give one and help a battered woman have something to be
grateful for!
12. Give a bunch to your Church, School or Congregation!
